Thank You I Guess

“Thank You I Guess” is Lauringer’s self-proclaimed alternative to saying the big and scary “L” word. It is an attempt to work around her deeply- rooted insecurity and society’s obsession around ‘I l*** you’s by coming to terms with being a bit weird about it.
Slightly awkward and emotionally confused, Lauringer tackles her issues with irony and ease. The playful, cheap synth sounds paired with organic percussion and somewhat broken acoustic guitars create a very down-to- earth, girl-next-door vibe matching the lightheartedness of her performance. Picture an easygoing Sunday afternoon, skateboarding through the neighbourhood with TYIG on full volume.
